The continued detention of Chief Femi Fani Kayode by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been described by Governor Ayodele Fayose as a personal vendetta.
Fayose spoke to Journalists after visiting EFCC office in Abuja to see the detained Fani Kayode in EFCC custody on Tuesday.
The Ekiti State governor arrived at the EFCC office at 2.15pm and left at 4.30pm.
Fayose was said to have prayed for the former minister.
The governor said while Fani-Kayode was in good spirit when he met him, he could not attest to the detainee’s state of mind .
Fayose called on the Federal Government to stop “playing god” and allow the former minister to enjoy the bail earlier granted to him by the court.
While saying he could attest to the character of Fani-kayode, who he said would not jump bail, he however questioned the rationale behind the former minister’s continued detention since the EFCC had resolved to arraign him on November 10.
