The Anambra state government has reacted to allegations being peddled by some members of the Indigenious People of Biafra (IPOB) that military officers in the state have invaded some schools and are injecting students with the monkey pox virus.
A statement released by the secretary to the state government, Solo Chukwulobelu, says the military officers were in some schools in Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area to carry out free medical outreach. Some mischief-makers created tension in the area by claiming that the soldiers were there to inject the students with the virus. Some parents rushed to the schools to withdraw their wards.
