Despite Victory Against Argentina, Super Eagles Drop 9 Places In Latest FIFA Ranking

Despite going being the first African county to reach 2018 World Cup in Russia, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped nine places to 50th position on the latest FIFA ranking.

Recall the Gernot Rohr side also stunned Argentina 4-2 in a recent friendly last week.

Nigeria, which were ranked 41st in the world and 5th in Africa last month, are now 8th on the continent.

Senegal rose to their highest ever position on the ranking to berth at 23rd globally and first in Africa.

Fellow Russia 2018 qualifiers went up on the ranking.

Tunisia is 27th in the world, going up by a point same as Egypt at 31st in the world.

The ranking’s top five – Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium – will be heading to the global finals, and all maintained their positions from the October edition.
