3. President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Monday, depart Nigeria for Accra, Ghana to attend the country’s 61st Independence Anniversary celebrations holding at the Independence Square on Tuesday, March 6.
Buhari is the only foreign leader invited to the historic event as the Special Guest of Honour.
4. Secretary of Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Uba Muhammad Shiye has been kidnapped.
5. Sen. Shehu Sani has declared that he will leave his party if the ongoing effort at resolving the crisis in Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) fails.

He told newsmen in Lagos on Sunday that the executive has done its part and was waiting on federal lawmakers for passage of the appropriation bill.
9. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has kicked against the proposed bill by Senate spokesman, Sabi Abdullahi, which prescribes death penalty on anyone found guilty of hate speech.
According to Fayose, the power of the people was greater than that of leaders in public offices, hence they can’t propose a bill to be lords over freedom of speech.
10. The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the convener of Broom United Movement (BUM), Fouad Oki, a loyalist of national leader, Bola Tinubu.
The suspension of Oki, a former director general of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s 2015 campaign organisation, was ordered by the state chairman of APC, Chief Henry Ajomale.
