Authorities of the Nigerian Senate have said that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was responsible for the invasion of the Senate plenary on Wednesday morning by persons suspected to be thugs, during which the mace was seized and taken away by the invaders.
Omo-Agege is currently on 90-day suspension over his comment that the amendment to the Electoral Act 2010 to reorder the sequence of polls in a general election was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

Thuggery at the Senate. The older generation insist our generation is a spoilt one, but everyday they keep showing that they shouldn’t be the one saying such a thing. Because they keep disgracing Nigeria with their thuggery and collective irresponsibility.

So there was Commotion in the National Assembly as the Senate Mace was taken by hoodlums while a session was ongoing.
What were the security officials over there doing that the hoodlums could not be caught in time?
This is to show how insecure we are in this country.— GREAT GRACIOUS (@GreatGracious) April 18, 2018

Nigerian Senate suspended Sen.Ovie Omo-Agege because he opposed the electoral amendment bill. He came back today with thugs and took away the mace from the national assembly.
The part I don’t get is how did he get out of NASS without security officials noticing it.

For a long time, suspected and suspected herdsmen have been attacking and killing innocent Nigerians. Today, suspected thugs decided to visit the Nigerian Senate. The POINT is: no one is really safe in a country where the leaders pay lip service to the security of citizens!

That Senate should calm down, we all know that Mace is either painting or gold platted, if not the politicians themselves would’ve stolen and sold it long time ago.

Apparently, Senator Shehu Sani doesn’t know the importance of mace to lawmaking.
With the mace, you can hold a sitting even on Lagos-Benin expressway. Without it in the Senate chamber, every action taken is null and void.

Nigerian Senate is now a joke house.
How can Omo-Agege think of such action.

Dele Momodu is trying hard to draw sympathy for Bukola Saraki, his brand new presidential candidate
He suggests that those who arrested Judges in the night have also gone to the Nigerian Senate to remove its mace
Listen Momodu: if Buhari wants it, Bukola Saraki can be ARRESTED!— A.B.Abdullahi (@ComradeAbubakar) April 18, 2018
You mean Nigerian senate is not secured at all that people can just go and take the mace? Wonderment.

I know the only reason the Nigerian Senate is moving to stop estimated bills by electric distribution companies is because it’s affecting them personally, this people don’t care about us unless it’s affecting them already…
