The Upper Chamber has passed the Nigerian Football Federation Bill seeking to legalise the country’s football governing body.

This followed the presentation of the report on the NFF Establishment Bill 2017 as presented by the Senate Committee on Sports, which was adopted and passed by the lawmakers.

The Nigerian Football Federation (Est, etc) Bill, 2017 (SB. 154) was read for the 3rd time and passed.

The Senate reverted back to plenary and reported progress.

Senate President Bukola Saraki also commended the Committee on Sports.

He said the bill passage “would bring Nigeria within the best practices, it has been an embarrassment to the Nation in the past”.
