An accident involving a fuel tanker and a Volkswagen Golf along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway has led to the burning of 17 houses and scores of fuel tankers parked along the highway in Tafa village.
It was gathered that the explosions occurred after a tanker loaded with petroleum products dodged collision on the highway with a commercial Golf car, skidded off the highway and burst into fire.
The spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Yushau Shuaib, said a mosque was also destroyed in the incident but that no life was lost.
Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, who visited the scene sympathised with the people of Tafa and expressed sadness over the lives lost.
The Governor also inspected the new Trailer Park under construction in the area.

Another Trailer Park is being constructed at Maraban Jos, along the Kaduna/Zaria express way, Igabi Local Government.
